Keeping up with the 2023 data breaches, we would like to share information on the Intel data breach earlier this year. A security breach that occurred in March shook the tech industry, affecting not only MSI but also leading chip manufacturer Intel.

The breach targeted MSI, a prominent hardware manufacturer, resulting in the theft of approximately 1.5TB of sensitive data. The hackers claimed responsibility for the attack and demanded a $4 million ransom to prevent the public release of the stolen data. Despite MSI's refusal to pay, the hackers followed through with their threat and began leaking the firmware source code of MSI's motherboards.

The consequences of this breach have far-reaching implications, with Intel now investigating a major leak of Intel Boot Guard keys.
