Hey Techies!

Twitter has been popular for quite some time now. The recent tech news in the business world has only added to the popularity of Twitter, both famously and infamously. Nonetheless, Twitter is a phenomenal company with a great amount of influence throughout the digital world and society. With millions of users that operate 24/7, supreme security protocols are imperative.

Even with this need, in 2022, a data breach of millions of users’ names and email addresses was made public. This report was made months after the hackers gained access through a vulnerability in its login authentication process, allowing unauthorized access to a small number of accounts. Twitter immediately launched an investigation into the matter and notified affected users to reset their passwords and review their account activity.

As expected, the company also stated that it has taken steps to address the vulnerability and prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future. However, it is still unclear who was behind the breach and what information may have been accessed. Twitter has apologized for the incident and assured its users that it takes the security of their accounts very seriously. The company has also recommended that all users take steps to secure their accounts, such as enabling two-factor authentication and regularly updating their passwords.

These steps should always be followed when a data breach occurs. Look out for any communications from the companies you are affiliated with. With this, you can remain in the loop of any security issues that could affect you. Social media companies are fun to use until they put your personal information at risk due to a data breach. #StayVigilant
