The breach was the result of a compromised third-party support agent account. During the breach, the support ticket queue of the affected agent was exposed, potentially exposing user email addresses, customer service messages, and any attachments shared within the tickets. As soon as Discord became aware of the incident, they took immediate action by disabling the compromised account and conducting thorough malware checks on the affected machine. 

Discord has reached out to affected users, notifying them about the breach and the possibility of their email addresses and support ticket information being exposed to a third party. To prevent future incidents, Discord has collaborated with their customer service partner to implement enhanced security measures. 

While Discord believes the risk to be minimal, it is advisable for users to remain vigilant for any suspicious activity. This includes being cautious of potential fraud attempts or phishing attacks.
