On March 14, 2023, PharMerica and its parent company, BrightSpring Health Services, stumbled upon some fishy business on their computer network. Quick to react, PharMerica initiated an internal investigation and roped in cybersecurity experts to handle the situation. The outcome? It turns out an uninvited guest had popped into PharMerica's computer systems between March 12-13, 2023. Yep, you guessed it - a good ol' data breach.

Now, before you start looking over your shoulder, here's the lowdown. Some personal info might have landed in the wrong hands. We're talking about names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, medication lists, and health insurance info. Phew, that's a lot, right? Well, the bright side is, PharMerica hasn't seen any signs of fraud or identity theft stemming from this mess. But they're not taking any chances.

March 21, 2023, marked a big day for PharMerica. They rolled up their sleeves and got down to business, identifying the group of folks whose private info got caught in the breach's crosshairs. These folks are getting a heads-up from PharMerica, complete with info on what happened and what they can do about it. You see, PharMerica is dishing out complimentary identity protection and credit monitoring services to the affected bunch.

Here's a nugget of advice from the pros: keep an eye on your credit reports, account statements, and benefit reports. If anything smells fishy, don't wait, reach out to the proper team suitably. According to reports, PharMerica is tightening up processes and procedures, making sure this sort of mishap won't happen again. Because, let's face it, your privacy matters.
